About a mile away is Sutter’s Fort, another interesting historic site where you can see the restored heritage of John Sutter’s farmlands, fortress, and sawmill. To experience more of the local heritage, head to Old Sacramento, along the Sacramento River. There are five museums in this neighborhood, including the California State Railroad Museum.
Are you feeling hungry? Old Sacramento is the place to be, with many fantastic eateries, such as Bali Kitchen, Steamer’s Bakery & Café, Joe’s Crab Shack, and the Sacramento Sweets Co.
